The lawyer sends a form letter on their letterhead and potentially collects a % or loses money on postage.

What's in it for a lawyer to take your case for free? Fake news.

They won't do anything about it unfortunately. I was part of the 05/30 RIF and I received an email stating the enhanced package is available to those who were impacted from May 1st onward.

Sorry friend... pretty sure you're stuck between a rock and hard place on that one. Always worth a shot, but I also have really no idea who to even reach out to

The terms of the enhanced package and the VSP package are identical, however, the VSP is voluntary and the enhanced is given to RIF'd employees who go off payroll between the announcement of the VSP and the last off payroll date for the VSP.

What is the difference between enhanced package and VSP package? If any?

Was April 1st your last day? Or the day you were notified. If you were still on the payroll os of May 1st, you will get the match to VSP.

The severance agreements are solid. There will be no settlement.

Did you read the RIF package that you signed on the dotted line? Just curious to know what language was written. I'm surprised that an attorney would tk it on without seeing the language of the RIF agreement. Vz always ensures that they have lock in language.

Spoke to attorney they will take case for free .. they expect a settlement anyway .. I suggest anyone else affected reach out . Most lawyers will take case on free. Nothing to lose

You will only get the enhanced benefit if you were still on the payroll when they announced the VSP. That's where the line is drawn. You can spend all you want on a labor lawyer. Won't help. You signed a severance agreement.

Talk to your manager or reach out to your HRBP

Looks like they didn't want to give you the option to leave, so you got the lesser option and forced to leave.

Not everyone is eligible. It was given to specific orgs.
