Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

LevelBlue Layoffs

Does anybody know when or if this is going to happen and what the size and scope would be? Do we get the AT&T severance benefit? Are any executives leaving?

The comment below hits the nail on the head. In a commodity business, like mobility and fiber there is absolutely zero need for skilled labor. Sales, engineering and frankly plant can all be done satisfactorily by the lowest bidder. Customers can buy online or from an agent, can discuss billing with a contracted call center, maintenance can initially be done by remote troubleshooting and finally, hands on repair can be done by contractors or the lowest paid union employee. The future of T employment is bleak.

Sadly T is rapidly moving to a Fiber and Mobility company....Nice going Stankey.....you are moving full speed ahead into 2 commodity businesses. How do commodity businesses compete? On price unfortunately...which means more cost cuts and layoffs...I know some may be thinking we will compete on value and differentiate there....but sadly under Stinkey's leadership there have been major outages and cyber events....he has transformed this company into a joke.....he must go!!!

They should have opened a hot tub business in the same building as LevelBlue, companies would take it about as serious.

Yes, T severance is 100%.

Huge layoff by end of July.

Could the entire venture go bankrupt without the protection of T? Would T let that happen?

“ Sadly, there will be A LOT more of this type of situation in the days/years ahead.”

Even more sad is the fact that it won’t take even a year to unravel.

I know a few people in that unit. All I can say is that they complain bitterly about the lack of communication from leadership. They’ve only had about 3 calls since the announcement in November. There was one with HR that was so bad that people vented their disgust. Ever since, they avoid questions and disable the group chat functions on calls.

It doesn’t appear that they have any real vision, and they clearly don’t care if people are unhappy.

Really should no surprise to anyone. There is not enough runway for this to take off. In this type of investment by a partner, it’s imperative that growth is quick and substantial in order to survive. This is missing all the ingredients of that. Pieces of this JV will be carved up and sold to many different companies. Save this and read again in 6 months.
