Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Chuck Robbins needs to go!

Chuck Robbins doesn't have the technical vision to lead CSCO. With him at the helm, CSCO plays perpetual catchup with the industry trends. They missed cloud network (Arista dominates that space). They missed video conferencing (Zoom was worth more than CSCO in market cap during the pandemic)--they invested a lot in this space only as an after thought. With a tech company, you need to stay ahead of the curve and not miss out on key industry trends. Chuck Robbins needs to go!

Here is Chuck's record since he took over in 2018. From Chatgpt

"The nominal compound annual growth rate (CAGR) for Cisco Systems from 2018 to 2024 is approximately 4.24%. However, when adjusted for inflation, the annual inflation-adjusted return is approximately -13.85%.

This negative inflation-adjusted return indicates that, despite the nominal increase in the stock price, the value of the investment has decreased in real terms when accounting for inflation over the period."

Hopefully, something changes soon. :)

Cisco has missed all industry transitions in the last 20 years. It waits until an industry gets established before getting involved, ignoring its engineers, but by then others make the running and not Cisco. Cloud, FSO, L7 FW, DC, SDWan. Cisco is now a follower and not a leader obsessed with $$ margin forgetting technical leadership, not understanding that if you technically lead first the $$ will naturally follow. This is what you get when you have a used car salesman heading a tech company.

And a technical CEO with a good vision hires competent ELT and so on. Chucky's ELT team is a disaster. Look what JP did to Webex and SBG.
