Your titles are over- rated. If you apply to a company and they do a full background check, your “officer title” is what the “work number” used by BNY for employment verification will report to them. Good Luck explaining your title after the many re-branding events. It’s comical.
The title of MD in the financial world means you made it. So for someone to change an MD to SD is significant

Looks like RV is thinking he can "run the company better" by hiring one Chief x-x Officer every other week. This combined with firing lower level employees who have the needed skills is the way to "thrive together".
I was an MD for years until they took away the MD title from about 600 people and bumped us down to Director (circa 2017/2018). It stung, because I had worked extremely hard for that title. However, it made me realize that it was time to get out - and I did. Changing titles does nothing but hurt morale.

They can call me termite and pay me at md or sad salary- the title is meaningless.

90% of them are overrated, overpaid, and useless no matter what you call them! Unlike Citi, which started its layoffs with MDs, BNY keeps its SDs or MDs and layoff lower grade workers! A terrible employer. Tax corporations that offshore American jobs and keeps useless SDs and MDs. Tax the MFs, starting with this MF
