Spring Campus Hygiene

Hygiene is going downhill fast. Campus now has signs at the kitchen area sinks “Do Not Sp-t in Sink”. Amazing that these BTC folks are so barbaric.
Last week I saw an impat from BTC pour her bowl of soup into the trash can near our desks.
There is another BTC impat that I can smell from up to 100 ft away, can smell him from outside a glass enclosed meeting room with door shut, and can detect his presence for an hour after he leaves an area.
Shocked at how low EM has gone to achieve 20% labor costs.

Please share your hygiene observations below.

Just when I am ready to eat, someone blows the nose with disgusting sounds that makes me want to pu-e. We need a sign that tells people to go to the restroom to blow their noses.

When the Australian, Irish, British, Canadians take spots in top executive positions from Americans in an American company, are you as concerned as about BTC employees?

Think about it aline and admit to your racism if its not the case.

Wearing fragrances should be banned on campus. There is one BTC guy that wears some smelly substance so strong my eyes water and I sneeze when he gets within 20 ft.

Why would anyone put that much fragrance on? Is it a religious or cultural requirement?

Is it acceptable to mention to him that the people around him are suffering? Would he be offended?

The only place I’ve seen chewing tobacco spitters is in the Permian. We can all agree it is disgusting. It is also not common.

@1tzr You say this as if it were a bad thing.

You also seem to have confused Indian cuisine with Pakistani cuisine.

I’ve seen plenty of “good ol’ boys” with dip in their mouths spitting in bottles and trash cans. That’s disgusting by any objective measure, but I’ve yet to hear any American employees complain about it. Wonder why that is?

Cheers to all of you closeted racists and your self-serving double standards.

Only a matter of time before they replace shade food spots with kabab and curry stands. Then replace the chairs for used gym mats. Yuck.

People visiting because of your ELT’s decision and dole out your advice of being respectful to the commenters that have posted nasty stuff in this thread. It’s not 1700s where people were brought here on ships. Respect goes both ways. If you give $hit, you will get it too.

For more than a thousand years, it was the other way around. Everyone wanted to go to India to plunder its wealth - the Mongols, the Turks, the French, the Portugese, the English, the Dutch. The trip Europeans made to the Americas itself was the result of the effort in finding a shorter route to India. Tables will turn but it takes time.

@1skj+1t88Nu9L Then why does everyone of your kin want to come here? Or millions coming from
Southern border illegally. All the motels, Indians are illegals there.
Better have respect and keep eyes down when you are a visitor here.

Generalizing a country of 1.5 billion is the biggest mistakes all Americans make. Get an education and learn about the world.

The truth is everybody has moved ahead and The US is there as it was since 90s. Look at your filthy airports, homless people, crime rates, school shootings and mental illness issues. Despite all the money lack of peace and happiness and true barbarians.

The people at work who are judging others on how they smell, you have no right to. You are the ones who have a stinky mind incapable of accepting the fact that all Indians are here to because of a certain need. The need is incapable, aging workforce of The USA unable to justify the value of their paychecks.

Yes perfume cologn oils may not make your nose happy, but its your hatred thats coming in the way of letting your colleague know about this and also accepting himan beings for what they are.

you think yiu are hygeinic? Go to any mens restroom on camous and it stinks of sh-t all day and is a mess. Its dreadful to think about going. And eating food with fingers? Thats how humans evolved, its still a person own genome on their fingers, just because you use spoons and forks doesnt make you superior.

you are still a disturbed mind, unable to share your excessive land which yiu grabbed from others through unsoeakable violence and treachery, and was not your anyways. So the lack of peace is what you deserve. Let the Indians make a living and let them be.

This one crosses lines of racism. Change yourself.

@OP Offices have been unhygienic for years, going back to when they first introduced open-seating, eliminated private work spaces, reduced break areas, and outsourced custodial functions to the absolute lowest bidder.

As is the case with everything else you people complain about here, this can be blamed on your executives, all of whom have palatial private work spaces and enjoy maximum flexibility to work remotely. I understand some even commute to Houston via private jet.

Tell me how the underpaid, exploited Indian employee with zero personal agency is creating this problem.

I love a good BTC rant as much as the next guy, but y’all have crossed over into racism on this one. Not a good look. There are plenty of legitimate arguments against dispossessing US employees of their careers. Why stoop to this level?

Dipping tobacco and spitting should only be allowed in the smoking areas of the garages.

Was tobacco sp-t the inspiration for the No Spitting signs?

I had this guy from Texas walk around with a cup to sp-t in. He would sp-t in it in the middle of our conversation and carry it around. I think it was tobacco sp-t. It made me gag every time and I avoided talking to him until I was sure he wasn’t carrying the ‘coffee’ cup to sp-t in.

So disgusting…

For those complaining about working with people who drench themselves in smelly substance, just ask them to stop or complain to their Supervisor.

I encountered one today, I do not know him, but I could smell him as I passed the enclosed meeting room with a closed door! I could not imagine being inside that meeting room with him. Possibly unhealthy to inhale such high concentrations of whatever he doused himself in.

If anyone of influence is reading this, please implement a “No Cologne” policy.

We have a guy in our group that wears so much cologne or fragrant oil or whatever that he can be smelled up to 100 ft away and for an hour after he leaves.

The smell cause my eyes to water.

I find that once the hygiene and the bathrooms are destroyed it means the morale of the company is at rock bottom. People seem to take it out on the bathroom their frustrations. I've seen it at other companies I've worked.

If they don’t use cologne or perfume, we will call them “smelly armpits”. If they use cologne or perfume, we will complain about the smell of the perfume or oil or cologne. Damned if they do and damned if they don’t - because we are entitled Houston employees!
