If one resigns while on an expat assignment does the company still live you back to the USA? Are you responsible to repay the company for anything?

It’s spelled out in the expat guidebook on the hr website.
It probably depends on the reason for the resignation. If it’s a health related issue (you or immediate family) there is probably a better chance they would work with you and not force any repayments but if just because you hate the job/location/supervisor, I’d expect they’d make you repay as much as they legally could.
There might be some charges back to you if you resign less than a year into your assignment.
