Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Where Will Intel Be in 7 Years?

Intel (NASDAQ: INTC) has been the rare semiconductor stock that has faltered this year. In fact, as of Friday, Intel was down 34% for 2024, even as the one of the largest semiconductor sector exchange-traded funds (ETFs) was up 42%. And the trend over the past five years has been even worse, with Intel's underperformance compounding to ghastly levels.

In the same place it is now. Touting "audacious" plans and how the company will turn around. Meanwhile, the majority of Mfg and Eng work will transition to SE Asia.

Dunno - we're paying Pat nearly a million dollars per day to destroy the company. As long as he keeps doing what's he's been doing, Intel will be the next Motorola within a few short years.

I'm pretty sure they're getting the expected results since they gave him a 45% raise after he dropped our revenue by 40%.

Let’s see, the past 10 years saw a fall from #1 market cap down to number #11.

AMD will flip market share and Intel will become the minority and will be forced to divest the fabs the same way AMD had to divest Global foundries.

A faded shell of its former glory, Kodak is still around after all these years… the Intel name will still be around in 7 years, but I concur with a prior replier: it will be broken up into 2+ entities. I don’t expect that more than 30-40% of today’s Intel employees will still have an Intel badge at that point.
