Managers who do nothing else but micromanage others

If they're spending all of their time micromanaging us, then they obviously don't have anything better to do and could be fired or laid off. I don't need somebody breathing down my neck the whole day and telling me how to do things I've done hundreds of times before. He's getting paid for slowing me down to tell me water gets things wet.

I agree 100%! I spend so much time answering my managers questions that my actual work is constantly disrupted. Not to mention hand holding with manager and other higher ups. Sometimes I'm not sure how folks got out of high school, college and even entered the workforce.
Even basic knowledge and actually having to think for themselves isn't something they are used to doing. Why think for yourself when your staff will do it for you while your just there to make lots of money! 💵 $$$

Can not agree more!!! They got high pay to slow things down and mess up process, complain you do not communicate with them enough in performance review when you work 24/ 7 to answer questions, solve problems, improve process.

Citi should keep some kind of leadership test before making any tom di-k harry a people manager..here the criteria is the better foot li---r u r of ur manager sooner u ll promote to a manager

Can't agree more. My manager did can gove a kt itself ,what all way u c
an micro manage..there's a daily status call,an ongoing teams chat,after that also clarity not there

This is an ongoing issue at Citi. They hire so-called managers to keep an eye on employees but have no qualifications for the job being performed. These managers pretty much enjoy kicking the staff down into submission because they know performance evals are crucial for continued employment. Senior management is oblivious and only cares about what they hear from managers and not their staff.

Becuase your managers don't have technical skill set to understand what you are saying and he need to prove his precesence some way, which is micromanagement when you sit and stand.
