The Good Ol Boy System?

Why do they keep using the same system, keeping the same types of people in important positions instead of promoting those based on the real results made, people with actual skill. And not just slick tongued.

It can be frustrating to see talented individuals overlooked in favor of those who may not have the same level of skill or results. The "Good Ol' Boy System" often refers to a network of individuals who promote and support each other based on personal relationships rather than merit. This can lead to a lack of diversity and innovation within an organization.

There are several reasons why this system persists:

Comfort and Familiarity: People tend to trust and promote those they know and feel comfortable with, even if it means overlooking more qualified candidates.

Resistance to Change: Established systems and cultures can be resistant to change, making it difficult for new ideas and individuals to break through.

Lack of Accountability: Without clear metrics and accountability, it can be easy for decision-makers to rely on personal biases rather than objective performance measures.

It's important for organizations to recognize the value of diverse perspectives and skills, and to create transparent and merit-based promotion processes. This not only benefits the individuals within the organization but also leads to better overall performance and innovation.
