I can put names to the offers they’re so targeted. It’s a few positions that are made up or people they were binding in the org. One or two are well over 30 guys they want to leave.

There is an EISP offer in Virginia, mixed titles and locations but maybe only a total of 30 people. No details on the exact offer. Local 2201 sent something out but just job titles.

The offer gave 3 years but unfortunately I need 5 so I’m not going to take it.

The post by @1dol makes zero sense and shows great ignorance of the non-innuity retirement buyout plan in place for craft. He must be either stoned or just plain...

@2vxkm those 6 & 6 offers only made sense when there was only the annuity option of yesteryear.

The union does not want an offer for its members. Gonna lose too many people and then be really irrelevant.

The company will never offer a 3 and 3or 4 and 4 again. About 20 years ago they did and the union filed board charges against the company for bribing union employees to leave. That’s why you haven’t seen a packages like that sense.

The last time they offered years 3 and3 , The union filed board charges against the the company claiming and I quote “bribing Union employees to leave” so it is highly unlikely that you’ll see yours again maybe an enhanced package but that’s it.

@2rrp Is correct. The Month in which you turn 55 is the high watermark for the lump sum payout. Every month prior and after, will yield a lower payout, for whatever the current interest rate is at the time. Interest rates & years of service are the primary factor in determining the lump sum amount. (with yrs of service being frozen for management, back in 2006). But after that it is your age... Everything prior to 55 is lower, as you are considered to be under the Fed early retirement age. Everything after 55, is calculated based on decreased life expectancy, as in each month you are closer to death, and therefore would need less money over your remaining lifespan.

If you have the time and age, and leave, either rif/vsp/on your own, but still short of 55, wait to start paperwork, so that you pick the month you turn 55 to retire. Now if you are union, and actually get full Med beni's, you might not be able to wait without effecting med. But if your management and Med beni's can be started at any time (be it expensive as h3ll, just wait it out. In any event, with interest rates where they are now, the lump sum payouts are going to be at all-time lows. So you definitely aren't going to want to take a lumpsum until rates drop. So as others have mentioned, adding 3yrs to your age, if it applies to the lum-sum age, that might not be as helpful, as it is with the annuity monthly payout.

@1dol,
Go to "calculate your lump sum"
If you're 55 or older, and already have 30 years, add three years to the calculation and see what happens to a non-annuity payout.

3&3, 4&4 offers to older employees, while helping the annuity option, hurts rather than helps the other, cash-out calculation.

Post ID: @1wli+1tEWT4mi . Wrong . 3 to your age, 3 to years of service. And I would be surprised at any offer let alone 3 and 3

I heard the offer will be 2200 per year and 50k bonus. Off books in September.

3 + 3, means if you have 27 years with the company, they give you 3 years getting you to 30. The other 3 means the offer is $3000 dollars for every year you have with the company. 30 years x $3000 =$90000. 4 + 4 is 4 adding 4 years of service and $4000 × years of service.

Yes there is an offer coming. That’s why they gave union a 50% wireless discount because that goes away when you retire. They know what they are doing. Get everyone to switch back with 3 year device promos and half off discount. Then you retire under a package and stay with vzw for 3 years. Win win

Adding to your age, after 55, has a negative outcome on the payout.
