This is exactly how the company wants it to go…you move into role you’re unsuited for under guise of “opportunity”. Coworkers stab you in the back, old group doesn’t support you (so much for career ownership…) and bingo! Your ranking falls and you’re miserable. You’ve been set up to fail, because they need tributes for the next cycles. Older employee? They want you disgruntled because PIPing you is no great loss for the company, and it’s dead easy to make up sh_t about your poor performance so you’ll leave on your own. If you’re young, take this as a warning signal and gtfo.
