Please rank or comment on your current or past work sites. I will start with the ones I worked for. First the worst.
BTEC east and west. Everyone one here was an arrogant back stabber. No one was freindly or helpful. The nepotism is rampant and the favored are loved and an impenetrable group. The bureaucracy and lunacy is nuts. Holding the hand rails while the plants blow up insane. Only the chosen move up and if you are not part of this you fail. rumors and gossip rule here and one bad comment from your peers dooms you. Comments like they said you were not working hard enough or sitting too long at the desk are common. This is the worst place I have encountered. The worst kind of people and extremly toxic. Do not work here I hated every moment of it. . They use rusty machetes to back stab you here or hack you to death.

Second best EMHC. This is a show piece for exxon. The labs are clean and have see through glass. You can excel here if you can play the game. They like the show offs and talkers. Competition is hard with engineers and they will try to make you look bad. The people are friendly and sometimes help ful. You can find decent people here that just want to work and do no harm. Of course there are the high fliers and sponsored people. Lots of a kissers and smart talkers following the bosses around like puppies.
I was not a bad place to work and in felt okay working there. They back stab you with daggers here.
The best friendswood site.
This was by far the best place I work at. The people were friendly helpful and nice,. It was like a family there and people covered for each other. We had a few bad apples there who tried to make others look bad and gossiped behind their backs. For the most part you could stay in your building and hide out. I was a very relaxing place to work and I was not stressed out working there. There were some toppers and a kissers here but they were few. Over all a laid back place to work with friendly people. I loved this site and wished I could have stayed forever. They back stab you with tiny needle that you don't feel.
Please comment and warn others about all sites at exxon so new victims can at least know what it is like.

On another note it appears that if they are moving people from Clinton they may not offer me a job unless they are wanting to place me in the chemical side which they are hiring for now.

Wow, I applied for a process position for btec and interviewed late April for a start date of July 15. Its now August and have not heard back. My application still shows in progress. Not sure whats going on but after reading these reviews I am skeptical.

I worked 12 years with ExxonMobil. BTEC is the worst place to work as confirmed by many others. Though I was promoted after completing higher education with the company, I was eventually shoved into a toxic job I really did not want. I went from a top ranked employee early in my career to a bottom ranked employee just because I could not adapt to the back stabbing environment. Eventually I got terminated for standing up to my manager. They promised me a severance and then even backed out of that. ExxonMobil was a company I really cared about, but they eventually ripped me to shreds with no remorse. Thankfully, I work for a better company with much higher upside now.

Work on 6th floor of E4 at EMHC, loving it here

BTEC East and West have been hollowed out. Doors still have name tags for people that left or were pushed out of the company three years ago. Ceilings have leaks, there’s asbestos everywhere, and snakes keep getting into the buildings. Good luck to all the people from Clinton that are going to be shoved into the trash can that is BTEC. No greater symbol of underinvestment in American growth by XOM than BTEC.

I agree BTEC is the worst. I had to get out of there and quit. The worst people that treat you like s h it. I was a contractor and left the labs. I was being sabotaged and setup. Before they could fire me i found another job and left. The contract agency was mad because I left but I could not take it anymore. I felt like I was going to punch someone. It was best for me because I am now at a better company. You canot put a price on your mental well being. Avoid BTEC at all costs.
