Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

On Leave and blindsided by bad review

I'm on my 60 day leave and was completely blindsided by my manager's Needs Improvement review. There are blatant lies in my review. What can I do?

You are on warn notice and you want to fight a review from the employer that let you go? Man you are not bright at all…. Just go away with your package. Does wells really hire people as d#mb as this? Why would you bother? Start job hunting.

Nothing. You’re obviously not too bright as this is a website about job displacement not about mid year reviews. Work harder and be smarter would be sage advise.

OP you are laid off. The 60-day notice is just a formality. It isn't a leave.
It's a loophole so Wells doesn't have to report you in a Warn notice.
As @1nun says your manager was told to cut people. He/She also had to give out (fabricate) reviews. Your job now is to let go of WF. You can leave this place behind.

OP again. To clarify, I should have said I am in my 60 day notice after getting laid off/displaced. Not a medical leave.

It may not fix your problem, but if you report any unethical conducts to the regulators, eventually the Fed will realize that WF's toxic culture is a very serious issue in the banking business. They might start investigation and issue disciplinary actions against WF.

OP call them out on their retaliation for you being on leave. This happened to me also when i returned from maternity leave. I challenged them and had proof of great performance it got reversed.

imagine trying to recover from a fake accounts scandal for so many managers to now be doing fake DEI job interviews and submitting fake/false info in employee reviews. The culture never changes. Guess you can get away with it if it's your own people and not a customer.

If you are already severed and on your 60 day period just forget about it. Any future employer wont see it. Your manager is just giving you the 1 or 2 instead of someone still employed so that he/she makes their quota. Very common. I have done it myself.

Retaliation for being on leave. We did our training. They will change that review real quick as this is blatant.

OP here. I don't believe they can claw back my severance according to the paperwork I signed.

I'm trying to find out where to go to appeal the review. My former manager just uploaded it and I wasn't notified. Nor was I asked to meet to go over it. They probably don't realize I can still see it.

This is probably stacking the deck against you so you can be let go for cause with no severance when your time is up. Fight it as well as you can, good luck!

Nothing you can do unless you want to file a dispute. Even then, it’s your word against your manager/their manager.

I really hope karma will find these managers.

They make up chit to f you over. Fight or flee your choice
I fought....got Legal help...no cost since it is contigent. Play the employee complaint game but it is just so you can say you did. So it bought me a couple of years then I got
packaged out with severance. Chainsaw is a slash and burn guy. Dead bodies mean nothing. Really is a POS. Good luck.

We may have the same manager. Not much can be done as things are very toxic. Karma will find these managers.

Unfortunately, it’s too late to do something at wells now. Get your resume ready- this has nothing to do with you. Your manager just doesn’t like you as much as someone else and was told they have to cut ppl. So they fabricate reviews for ppl they decided they have to let go.

If you had suspected this before the review you could’ve complained to HR and avoided being fired for a while longer as they’d have to investigate and can’t fire you until after investigation. Best of luck (same thing happened to me) now I’m working somewhere else reading these stories. You’ll look back on this and thank them for doing you a favor.
