Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Get Ready for some heads to roll

its RIF time. I am tensed considering what could happen to my team as I am pretty sure this time there's going to be an impact in engineering at some higher levels as well. Over heard an exec literally shouting in a meeting room at the office on his cell phone and he didn't realize the door wasn't properly closed.

Damn! You were spot on with the 10% number. Announced in the results today.

It will be 10% across most departments. GTM, engineering, CSM and Consulting will be shelled to pieces.

It should be the useless ELT being shown the door as their inexperience and lack of leadership are the root cause of this company dying.

The RIFs are ready to go in September before the AIP starts.

Someone needs to pull the "flush" lever on the side! Terrordata is done, and should be, for how they treat their employees!

I used to get stuck in interviews with other employers when they would ask why I was leaving Teradata. I stuck to the facts: I worked for a manager, under whom (6) engineers have left the company (significant, considering a team of only 3 or 4 engineers at any given time), but (0) have EVER been promoted under, including that manager.

Of those (6) who are no longer with the company, one was a 27-year employee, one ended up in a me-h lockdown rehab (after 9 years with the company), one developed heart problems while working for TD, one developed stomach ulcers and insomnia while working for TD, and the others were just fed up with the toxic BS and left.

Teradata is dying and @1bdo+1tHI45Rm is worried about someone's grammar? Must be an ELT member adding value...

When a company is on an inevitable slide downward, and cost reduction is the only way to keep the balance sheet somewhere near acceptable to investors. This is what you get. The longer it goes on, the more frequent the need. And this decline has gone on an awful long time.

There might be a second RIF if Q2 is as bad as people think.

Why do we think there would be a second RIF so close to the recent one? I have never seen two RIFs so close together at any company.

@2pnj+1tHI45Rm - Looking forward to it - I've seen better organizational skills on the Muppet Show. And to borrow a line from the TV show Succession - "these are not serious people".

More GTM folk have their bags packed waiting for their marching orders. It is only a matter of time for the 15min calls to appear in one's calendar.

Your resumes mean nothing and there is a massive number of candidates desperately looking for work. It’s a very bad job market.

@1miu+1tHI45Rm , Your lack of command of the written language is enough to let you go.

Bring it on. Me and others in my team are praying we get picked. We've got our resumes at the ready. We cannot wait to leave this toxic dump of a workplace but we've been playing the game of "you're going to have to pay us out" the last couple of months. They've tried to get us to leave using intimidation but it has failed.

I hope the next rif event is really big as many will be able to escape and continue on with their lives

The problem is that the wrong heads have been rolling. The rot and overspend is at the top.
