Thread regarding SAP layoffs

Clarification on impending layoffs

Has anyone gotten clear information on what the new guidance is on the additional layoffs?

It is being reported that "an additional" 1000 people will be laid off to the existing 8k-9k (7% of employees) that were advertised beginning of the year.

However other channels are reporting that an additional 10,000 will be "restructured" (which I am sure means let go).

Not sure if SAP is sending mixed info or the various financial/tech sites are misinformed, but it's obviously a big difference between "an additional 1000" and an "additional 10,000".

If anyone has reliable info that comes from CK or CHRO would be great to know.

The information was posted by SAP. In Germany many employees have claimed to leave SAP - much more as expected by SAP - 200%.
All early retirement applications have been accepted whereas only 50% of the voluntary contract terminations have been accepted. Thus the total number increases to 10000. There is nothing exceptional behind.
There are speculations in German newspapers that CK wants to slow down the classical SAP business software - complex, individual, requiring much consultancy. Instead CK wants to sell standardized Cloud software - low cost - high profit - similar to the hyperscaler companies ...

Reliable info from CK???

Never to be forgotten is his exact words: "WFH is the new normal". Reliable??? These words should be carved into the exterior of every SAP Building, lest we never forget.

Why would the stock price jump this high if the layoffs were not significant? SAP likes to be vague about layoffs to keep everyone working hard to deliver on H2. I was one of the su-kers who sacrificed every moment of my time and energy to deliver on H2 2023 - and it was record breaking numbers- only to get laid off a few days into 2024.
