Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

HR Project

Heard from others that a new HR project is underway. Does anyone have insight into the objective or vision? Obviously there is a need to reduce headcount, but is that the only goal?

HR turnover is high. Every few years there are new people working there. I don't think most of them can stomach the blood bath. I had a case and the HR person told me they believed me but there was nothing they could do. I could see the angiush in their face as they had to deny what was clearly happening. The told me they worked for the company and had been instructed to protect it's interest. We are at 45 or 50 thousand employees and dropping. I don't think exxon will be happy until all the workers that do actual work are gone. There will just be managers and executives left. What a paradise. The Weare exxon mobile is a joke. Exxon wants us to ki-l each other and stab each other in the back. Only the strongest most loyal employees will be left. Sick place.

People would line up to leave if a decent package was offered…

I'll bet it's just headcount reduction/outsourcing continuation. The Waem surveys are set up so that there won't be any actionable results. And we cannot underestimate the ability of mgmt to ignore problems.

The project is something related to HR. That's all I know.

They put it out in announcements today. The guy they put over it is a manufacturing site to VP. I’m betting it’s stemming from real WaEM survey results that they can’t ignore anymore.
