I’m wondering about your experience with looking for a new job. I decided to take a small break before I plunge into the nightmare of job search. It unnerves me a bit that all I hear is that people have trouble with landing a new job. Anybody had a positive experience lately? If so, give the rest of us some hope, pls.

It’s fine, most common question from companies in the industry when interviewing is : “Why on earth did you wait so long to get out of there?”
There are positive experiences...just look through LinkedIn and you can find them. I saw a few people that landed jobs right after they were laid off, but they were probably probing the market and reaching out to their contacts before they got hit.
You have to leverage your experience, education, and certifications and you will be alright. I am leaving CC end of August and already had 5 interviews. In my case the hard part is telling prospective employers that you can’t start until after Labor Day because I want to collect my severance. You have to make something up like planned vacation so they understand why you can’t start for a few weeks
