G10 Principal engineer

I have a G10 Principal Engineer in my team who seems to know nothing about anything relevant. How do we hire a Principal Engineer externally!! At a G10 ?

PE is a political game/club/frat... which has to be voted in by other technical PEs (if gained via promotion). If you want to bring in a PE externally... you prob need a VP level or higher technical sponsor.

They may know only Intel stuffs well but lack the others since Intel failed

G10 engineer was clever and convincing enough to grab the PE position, obviously. Can you tell your story to grab a G10 role? Probably not. That's all that matters here at Intel. Once you are a G10+, you are mostly secure as part of the club.

Most of Intel PEs need to go back to community college for training and update their knowledge again. Outdated knowledges won't help Intel.

Maybe just don't know what you knew, but do you know the G10 know how much you don't know?
