It's been a long-time coming for Intel... they finally stopped the death by the weekly CPMs, and just peeled off the bandaid now. Intel should've never been more than 100K HC ever. Mgmt should've just set a hard HC cap, and say that if we need more resources, someone will have to give up HC. After shedding another 15K-18K HC... guess what, the wheels will keep turning, and continue to move forward, hopefully for the better. Maybe they'll realize another add'l 8K-10K prob wouldn't hurt either.

@ygi A core Intel tenant is "you are responsible for your own employability." If you can't get hired, promoted, or a new job... the person ultimately responsible is the one in the mirror looking back at you. If someone can't find a job... that says more about that person than any comment from me.
According to the guardian Twitter usage has slipped by 23% since Musk took over. Nov 2022 thru Feb 2024
Twitter is a social media platform. Can't compare the 2.
But yeah 100K employees for any company is fu---n huge
Op has a point. Twitter cut 75% oh headcount and the have grown faster then Intel the past few years. You don't need as many employees as you think.
may be a good news, but only for those who finally stay
You're a real bozo for saying that this is "good news". Just wait until you're laid off and you try to find another job now. The IT job market is in the toilet.
