Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

So it’s time to polish resumes?

Can’t say I would be awfully sorry if I’m gone from here.

Why do I need a Polish Resume, I'm an American?

I have been out of Cisco for a while, and I can assure you that Cisco itself on your resume is indeed somewhat a liability. You can get past that, but don't think that association with Cisco itself will make you a hot commodity. Too many have preceded you from Cisco, and the brand's reputation has dropped considerably in the last few years.

Cisco is such a terrible company ;-) that they pay for a service to polish your resume for you at no cost to you! https://learn.cisco.com?courseId=COT00331030

In today's job market, you should ALWAYS have your resume up-to-date. You should also keep your skills fresh and learn new things. Keep in touch with your network regularly, not just when you're looking for work. Good luck, all!

Unfortunately, you're about a year behind the curve if you're just now coming to this realization... That's just the hard truth -- and you need to enter the job market knowing the hard truth if you're going to have success. Having CSCO on your resume' now is a bit of a liability... Cheers...

The best time to polish your resume was 6 month ago. The next best is now.
