Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

How many Intel employees have actually started a job search?

Are you actively seeking external opportunities or are you just waiting to see if you make it through? No doubt that it is a tough time to be looking for a job. Today's jobs report is being seen by some as an early indicator of a recession starting.

I have been applying to jobs since the last layoffs 18 months ago and between every other tech company lay offs I have been stuck here. Any interviews I get are for three times the amount of work and half the pay. Check out LinkedIn, there's so many talented and experienced engineers and PMs that have been unemployed for a year or more.

I would venture to say well over 50% have started looking and applying elsewhere. It will take some time, but these events sent many things in motion.

If you have not started you should do it now. The job market is hyper competitive right now. I got laid off from Oregons other big employer in June. I had started looking in April & finally got an offer at the end of June. 500 plus applications, 40 interviews (Many to the final round) ghosted by recruiters and hiring managers, hundreds of rejection emails. Buckle up for a bumpy ride.

Take it if you even get one. Rumor is it won’t be a lot or many being offered says package.

This was included in an earlier post. It is from 2022 so the severance details are old but the article has some good information to use in the decision process for people who are trying to decide whether to take a package.
