Thread regarding L3Harris Technologies layoffs

If you fight the layoff, they will fire you

Once you've been targeted for layoff, human resources will scour your history with the company. If you've ever had any disciplinary actions, or used too much time off, or refused to work overtime too many times, or had bad breath, or bad clothes, you will be terminated for "cause" and not be given any severance of any kind. They will look all the way back until they find something. Trust me.
If they ask you to take a voluntary layoff, and offer a severance, take it. If you fight the layoff, they will fire you.

Bumping this from @1mcm+1tMvYfI7 for important info.

Completely irrelevant to the topic. I've been trying to get hired at Clifton site for a year now, because I enjoyed my internship experience at another site and I'm local to Clifton area. Reading up on the posts on this website and about the stuff going on at Clifton site is scary.

I'm just curious how L3Harris does the hiring because a ton of students whom I went to college with were simply hired after applying on the website, no interviews or anything. For example one of my friends who had a GPA less than 3.0, no prior job experience/projects/clubs/organizations/volunteer was given an internship offer few days after applying. Whereas me who's had previous internship experience, multiple projects, 3.8 GPA, actively attending career fairs and connecting with recruiters and engineers wasn't even given a opportunity to interview. And I know GPA doesn't equate to how smart or qualified you are but how does L3Harris judge who's qualified for the job without interview? Btw for reference my friend and I have taken the same courses in college. Also some of these people that got hired lack work ethic and discipline, I've seen it with my own eyes. People that cheat during exams and get caught have been hired in this company and it pains to see them succeed when you've tried to follow the righteous path.

Also since last summer I've been applying to positions that come up now and then at Clifton (the second they are posted, I check website every few hours). I reach out to HR in hopes I could be considered for the position, the position is filled before I get a reply(most times I don't even get a response). Just curious are people being interviewed for these positions? Or are they just posting the job on website but offering it to those that have previously interviewed to save time and money? At least that's what I've heard happen to few people on reddit. Or am I just not qualified for these positions even though they're new grad positions and I have experience that match job description?

I've also had HR and my previous manager forward my resume to Clifton but nothing has came of it last summer and this summer. What are yall thoughts? Should I avoid this company or what? I've also tried other defense companies like Lockheed and BAE because they're in NJ but they've also had layoffs/hiring freeze. It's been really difficult trying to land job when companies don't want to post anything. Sorry again this is completely irrelevant to the topic and sorry if it sounds salty(probably because I am).

Another RIF is coming to Clifton. It's going to happen in October 2024. Since their management protection was let go back in April, the last of the ITT riff-raff will be let go in October. They will look at excessive use of PTO as "cause" to lay off without severance pay. The lure of "unlimited sick time" was always a trap intended to get some abusers to expose themselves. Some of them have had "covid" over a dozen times in 2 years. Others in supervisory positions have had their unqualified spouses working there as well. It's gonna su-k if both husbands and wives get laid off at the same time.

@2ssw, they can't do much here except write a cheerleading post or two, which is pretty obvious and can be easily skipped. They can't bury the posts here with downvotes like they do on Glassdoor or Reddit, as posts here are sorted by the timeline and not by te number of votes.

They made my life so miserable trying to push me out. I had to leave after 20 years. I was 2 years close to retirement. They had to borrow money to pay the payroll. I am happily employed by Lockheed Martin.

it's amazing how much a former HR person will spill once they have been laid off. The dirty tricks and dirty people they know about could fill volumes.

Bill Brown was historically in the top 3 most disliked CEO's, glad to see turkey neck kubasik follow in his footsteps, definitely reeks of dysfunctional organization though. My org has felt semi hostile for the past 4 years

yeah all those canned glassdoor and indeed reviews that have a vague “no cons” and “approve of ceo” and 5 years are very sus.

Especially since for real employees at every single program at my site as well as multi-site programs across multiple locations, everybody is talking about the unstable state of the company and lack of morale for the future. Reddit is a much more accurate vantage point of things, and even low/middle managers comment anonymously on the Reddit

Interesting that previous posts on this topic have been taken down. L3 Harris had a A glass door team when negative reviews from Glassdoor were posted. the L3 Harris glass door team was actually members of HR who logged on to different machines during the course of the day to flood glass door with positive reviews in an attempt to dilute the negative ones posted by so many employees. it would seem L3 Harris now has the layoff com team doing the same thing. burying negative information with false positive information. it's kind of the same way they treat whistleblowers isn't it.

Why would you fight being laid off? I wish I would have had that option, would have been a relief. You have to quit thinking this is some amazing silk road, it is a job for a bunch of people that do not appreciate you nor do they know how to evaluate your performance. You have value outside of this "opportunity", please realize that, this place is nothing special.

Take it from a survivor from the wrath of L3H, there is a great life to be lived outside that abortion!

I don’t doubt that at all, given the motive of the company is primarily about making up cash/debt from AR and TDL.

It’d be eye widening to see the percentages of the RIF in how many were laid off and how many had reasons come up against them to be fired (ie. no severance).

Looks like at least one person on this forum revealed they did not get the severance. Nobody likes to admit they were laid off, and I’m sure it’s a 1000 times worse for somebody that was let go for cause for some stupid reason.
