Is severance package taxable?

D-mb question but gotta ask, does the severance package count as W2 income and taxable ?

Yes, they will take it out of your severance check. Once you get that check stub go see your accountant.

Severance is 1.5 weeks of pay per year of service, plus 4 weeks, plus 9 weeks. Somebody that has been here for 10 years would receive 28 weeks or approx. 7 months of pay.

Fu-k that su-ks. I've been here for 5 months. Severance looks to be around 78K but after taxes that's peanuts.
