Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Is anybody else worried about severance?

Laying off so many people is expensive. What's to stop the leadership from reducing severance drastically to save on layoff-related costs? This is stressful enough as it is, but when you add that into the mix, everything becomes ten times worse. Is this a realistic possibility?

CPM 2022. Got 1.5 weeks per year plus PTO. Sabbatical was also paid, that’s a surprise

You get the lump sum in the next paycheck cycle after your last day. It’s not like a pension. You get it, you’re done.

It's usually paid out in a small amount of lump-sum payouts, so it isn't like you'll be collecting a paycheck for a year, where they could decide at any time to pull the rug from under you. Once you've got your package, you've got your package.

I think package will be small. It’ll take 2-4 months to identify and initiate job cuts. Just consider you’ve a head start and start looking.

No, you are thinking about it too much. Take the package and go. You will get paid.
