I don’t see how Intel can restore its brand reputation in light of this fiasco.

The only place where the reputation was damaged is among butthurt schizo nerds like the video author. Normal human beings do not care about all this bullsh-t except if the CPU works, and if it breaks then if it gets replaced by warranty.
Amen! PEs spend their time working on SQL scripts and JMP analysis. Some don't know where exactly the equipment they are responsible for is located in the fab.
I know this since I made the mistake of coming to Intel chasing the higher wages as a PE. Not only was I told not to spend too much time in the fab, but once reprimanded for spending too much time on my computer during a weekend writing game plans while keeping up 30 etch tools UTP, due to ergo concerns from typing. Got a standing ovation during passdown, then called in by my incompetent manager I would be written up if I let my ergo turn red...
I was laughed at when asking if Intel was going to get in the mobile market years ago.
