Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Take the package and run?

Is anyone planning on taking the package and the first decent offer that comes along, then figuring the rest out later? Rather, who ISN’T planning on taking it?!?

Anything to get off the rapidly sinking ship?

Your resume should already be updated.
And you should already have been looking for new job.
We all saw this coming.

This reminds me of the following scene on The Matrix. Fast forward to 02:03 and watch until 2:13 :)

If you think the packages are the same, you probably should have been part of the involuntary crowd that got the boot first.

The packages are exactly the same. No reason to push yourself out early.

Staying put. Hard worker, love my team and manager, love the work I do, appreciate the schedule flexibility to pick up kids from school and finish workday from home, great healthcare benefits.

Could that change? Yes. But for now I am content here. Who knows what I might find on the outside. So, they'll have to push me out

Estimate your payout, if it is only a few weeks, then why volunteer for CPM and have less time to look for another job. Stay put and start prepping. I would think best time would be for changing would be early next year if you are involuntarily forced.

Yep, taking it. Going to spend time with family. Do some camping. Enjoy the holiday. Wait for the Cackling Hyena to lose an start looking next year as the economy picks up. Done playing Rollercoaster jumping higher only for management to say "Nah, we don't need it anymore."

The job market is tightening and the economy is slowing down. It is worth waiting to see if you are part of the majority who will survive. The packages aren’t that different.
