Godspeed brother
Gr 9. Took vsp last july.. 305k total... 31 years.. got a job in nvda starting in sep 1...
OP is a prime example of why Intel is sc--wed. Another overly confident manager who thinks that $200K jobs are falling out of the money tree in today's economy. Probably lives over his means and fails to consider taxes in the payout. Wife is going to be pi---d when he is left with only $35K after taxes and poor prospects.
I hope the OP has a pool and a pool boy. Maybe the pool boy will be able to support his family when his wife kicks him to the curb for such poor decision making.
my VSP was accepted in 5 mins after submission
5 mins? OP is a jester, not really an employee.
OP, would you mind giving your thoughts on this post from earlier today regarding COBRA? Thanks in advance.

If true this would be grossly stupid. It is almost always better to wait and see if you get laid off and take the separation package. VSP really works if you are leaving anyway or retiring. $70,000 is not much once they take out taxes and if you have a wife and kids, you can be in trouble quickly, especially in this market.
70K is the package after 1.5 years. I have left and my VSP was accepted in 5 mins after submission lol. I am in AZ. With 70K and a year of cobra I am ok. I have a wife and 2 kids and any inputs is helpful
@kua+1tSOnXDK Ugh. Reading comprehension.
He’s saying the package is worth ~$70K. He’s been there 1.5 years, so 14 weeks, $5000 per week puts him at about $260K/yr for a G10. Sounds about right.
Maybe I can get his job!
@kua $70k is probably the severance
Buuuuullllllshiiiii. There’s zero chance a G10 is making $70k. That’s less than grade 3 newhires.
Many people are older, lower grade level, and been working at Intel much longer. And you need time off after 1.5 years??! Save your patheic crying. Your kids should be ashamed.
Brave, brother. I’ve had a weird feeling in the pit of my stomach and cried a lot. Don’t get me started on the BMs.
Oh man, why not wait for ISV and ride it out a little longer?! You could’ve made it into mid-next year! Congrats tho, sure it feels GREAT.
