Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Can Pat STFU for Once?

https://x.com/pgelsinger/status/1820857358651986394

Just shut the F up.
Let the product speak for itself.
Don’t go on and on about unreleased products when you have lost all credibility.

The only way to get out of this is the actually DELIVER.

Pat is excellent. I understand the hate because you are a bunch of layoff candidates. Dave Z is probably a big part of why Intel is in trouble. He can't forecast. Granted, he is guiding us through the most expensive rebuilding of all time.

What decision has Pat made that is a bad decision? I would say, allowing hiring since he took over. I will let you all in on a little secret... Good GM's hire like crazy when Intel allows it. Why? Because of how Intel peanut butters layoffs. You want to bulk up because your 15% is happening no matter how efficiently you have run your business group. If other people hire, you hire too. This is a poor way to run a business. Run lean in the first place and put more scrutiny on new hires.

Otherwise, Pat has done an excellent job. 18A is within grasp. The whole product roadmap looks really strong. We heard confirmation that the demand for Gaudi3 is extremely good. If we had them to sell, we wouldn't be in this mess. I am happy to know that they would be selling off the charts if we had them available versus it just isn't a product people are interested in.

". . . customers and wall st don’t care about the nitty gritty details."

Yes, we do. Well, I do, anyway, as both a customer and investor. Perhaps X/Twitter is not the best place to post them, but I definitely care about the nitty gritty details.

Intel Labs people learnt how to be arrogant, biting, and intimidating others. Of course, they had directors, Fellows, Senior Fellows, Principal Engineers and Senior Principal Engineers to cheer and act as echo chambers. Pat was one of them. Nothing really worthwhile came out. Intel's belligerence brought them down ultimately and created sycophants.

Can you imagine Tim Cook talking about tape-outs and silicon bring up ? You have to be seriously desperate for any news on any progress to do this. Also, customers and wall st don’t care about the nitty gritty details. Talk when you ship the product in volume and have meaningful revenues to report.

In way over his head is the best description I have heard to explain PG

PG is nothing more than a meat puppet to support handing the company over to Israel, as all the CEO's have done. He just happens to be the worst, and ki-led the company for once and for all .. unless DT managed to hand Taiwan over to China.

I notice lots of a-s kissing going on at PG's X account. Your great buddy. Biggest corporate earnings fail in history. Keep up the good work.

Here's were the rubber hits the road Pat (Grove wannabe). Did you actually see Panther Lake and Clearwater Forest power on with your own eyes? Have you witnessed them boot operating systems? Or are you relying on your product managers opinions that this is what happened? It's a long way from power-on to a viable, reliable product. While were at it, have you ever immediately fired a product manager on the spot for lying about meeting roadmap commitments or hiding quality issues? (The answer should be yes - many times.)

yep , he’s nowhere as “Grovian” as he thinks he is or dreams to be …. the closest thing he ever got to emulating Andy Grove was licking his ring hole .

I worked at Intel for over 20 years . Met Grove twice briefly. He had massive aura and charisma no shadow of a doubt.

I worked with Gelsinger in my first stint at Intel on a global project and sat in All Hands meetings and ISMC sales meetings with him - a small time bully , had some of Grove’s bark but NONE of his bite . A small time imitation

I was asked back to Intel in 2021 and had the absolute misfortune of having to spend more time in his company as CEO. A weirdo and very uncomfortable to be with . In wayyyy over his head . I think he will be gone by the end of the year . He has f-kked up beyond all imagination and reason
