Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

SR Townhall was a dumpster fire

Very limited space so vast majority couldn’t attend. Teams invite/meeting didn’t work for first 20 minutes and crashed. Audio beyond poor, couldn’t hear what was being said. What a train wreck.

MG has been instructed, “you will be in charge of the 2025 layoffs”. Obviously she’s not well groomed yet. Expect to see DEI de-emphasized while the layoff train gathers steam.

When does RM not sound like she’s tearing up? I’ll be glad when I don’t have to pretend to listen to her drone on about nothing.

What was said about OPG? What was the tone of management? I missed the TH

MG was confused. Someone asked about a "package" meaning "relocation package" and MG thought she meant "severance package". There is a relocation package and not a severance package. You still have a job but it is now in Houston.

@1oue+1tSontoZ - what was said about OPG ROM?

MG is all about layoffs.

Even when asked about the relocation package on offer for those relocating, she jumped straight to “no severance will be offered” and followed up with “oh, well when you say package at Chevron, we think severance”. MW had to tell her she wasn’t answering the ladies question. Embarrassing. She showed us all the only thing she is thinking about.

Also, she has horrible bedside manner. When talking about uprooting people’s lives, she had either 1) no facial expression or 2) resting bi--h face.

Lastly, RM seemed to be a bit teared up when she talked - she surely isn’t voluntarily resigning. Definitely getting pushed out the door.

Brace yourselves!

I assume the dumpster fire poster will be retiring haha. Not a bad way to "go out" but no way MW lets that stand.

I am not in SR but I'm interested in what all was said by MW 'wirthless' and what was the ROM announcement? What happened in the TH?

Um, so MKW . . . we understand if an avatar freaks you out - you probably view it as 'new'. And, . . . well, 'new' you are not. PLUS, 'new' can be scary - like uprooting your entire family to move for, really, . . . well, no good reason. Let's be honest.

Anyway, here is today's IT lesson - when an avatar is moving, gesturing, blinking its eyes, whatever, . . . it is because a REAL PERSON is making it do all of that! Like, you know with their mouse or key on the keyboard! We'll send you a VHS tape w further info.

Agree that TH was a technical flop for those 'watching and listening' via MS Teams. The dumpster fire GIF floating down a flooded street was absolutely HILARIOUS. A perfect reflection of the experience for virtual attendees.

Thanks also to MG for announcing the OPG ROM! Nice add. Might as well pour salt into the wound.

The dumpster fire gif was absolutely wonderful. What was even more wonderful was they had to shut down the comments. They can’t take the heat.

So when will folks be moving and what groups first?

Which one of you posted the dumpster fire gif in the chat during the town hall?

So they had technical glitches during the Town Hall about leaving the talent pool that’s adjacent to Silicon Valley. . .

Can’t make this sh!t up.

just the way they like it - talk to the masses ONLY a few attend because of space and technical issues - you would think they would have it down - that is all they have to do is prepare to speak - HORRIBLE....................................................................

Our comms people continue to be bottom barrel in preparedness and capability. What a utter embarrassment and lack of planning, coordination and usage of technology.

Could a digital scholar have done better though?

I was there and thought it was very good. Lots of people in a space not designed for that, but we could all hear. Not sure what the Teams issue was, but it’s not the first time. I’m glad I went.
