Has anyone turned in an ADA accommodation to HR to receive continued Work from Home ability? How did that go for you?

It’s sad people on this board our Veterans suffering fromPTSD or anyone with aniexty issues.
Reminds me of the time someone yelled at my friend for not giving up his seat. He was 25 years old, looked healthy…but it was after his first day of chemo. They thought he was a jerk, not knowing what he was going through
You never know what someone is going through by external appearance
Glad you and your coworker got approved. Sorry your body tries to attack itself. Smart move sending the request early. A lot of employees got told to hold off until they were actually impacted by RTO and it just jammed up approvals and created a huge backlog. I got a buddy with PTSD they definitely shouldn't be playing musical chairs with their desk assignment because they definitely cannot be sitting in spaces with their backs facing people as a constant variable.
Which "disabilities"? Wow. Way to disrespect your colleagues who are actually disabled, pal.
Yes. I have IBS so asked for WFH accommodation. The paperwork was real straightforward. I kicked off the process last year before they were so strict about RTO, as I figuring it was coming. Renewed it this summer with no issues. Have a friend who submitted an Anxiety WFH accommodation request and that was also approved. You have to keep renewing it every 6m to a year depending on what they say so that’s a pain. But it allows me to WFH and manage my IBS so I’m happy!
Honestly, our offices have some serious accessibility problems over here in MN even if you are able-bodied with no underlying mental constraints. If we're not doing okay, I can't imagine asking someone with specialized ergonomic equipment to haul it back/forth from the office on public transit every week because they can't have an assigned desk. To say nothing of less visible issues like object permanence or focusing issues in a non-consistent work environment.
I have anixety issues and have been taking meds to deal with aniexty. Anyone with same issue able to get WFH? Just thinking about going back to office and see people is making it hard to breath
Which “disabilities” are you seeing being approved for WFH? Asking for a friend 😉
If you join one of the disability business resource groups, their Teams sites have more specific information on that. The short answer is it depends but there are folks that get the ADA approval. One thing to be aware of is that you have to renew the accomodations approval every six months, even for permanent disabilities. That means every six months you are paying $$$ for your doctor to sign a piece of paper saying that your permanent disability is still permanent to continue to access WFH.
