Why don't they sign for foundry? At this point just give them whatever capacity they want...why not? We're sc--wed anyway

Whatever happened to the MediaTek using IFS announced back in 2022? Was that a paper launch or were there any actual wafers produced that ended up in actual products?

It really isn't up to Intel. The Intel process is incredibly complicated compared to other vendors, such as TSMC. Intel already has tried being a custom foundry back in 2016, actually PAID a company to use the Intel Fab. Suffice to say, that customer did not come back for another order...
What makes you think all of this isnt already in motion? Intel will only be a foundry and no in-house design.
It takes time to characterize all those IPs.
You can't get your CCS or NLDM or your parasitics without doing the grunt work of iterating through the process of design and manufacturing.
