Thread regarding Anthem Inc. layoffs

As Prepared As I Can Be

I have worked for this company for almost 2 decades and am fully prepared to be RIF'ed today. I am leaning on God to hold me - and anyone else impacted [even those left behind with all the work] - up in these uncertain times. May God be with all of us. If you are a non-believer, may overwhelming peace and love surround you today and beyond as you navigate this new phase in your life.

Relieved you weren't impacted, I was going to ask.

I don't know if I'm safe yet, but I know I'm indirectly and personally impacted by the hits I'm aware of in my department. They are not only all personal friends I spend time with after hours and on weekends, but were very valuable to our team, and their loss will be instantly noticeable in our work product.

My team and I, made it through this round. We had an impromptu check in meeting today, we were all preparing for the worst, but were told we’re safe for now.
My heart is heavy for everyone today.

Update: Confirmed that I am NOT impacted during this layoff round.

Still praying for all impacted directly or indirectly.

I was rifd yesterday and felt relived. I agree things have been going downhill for awhile now. I’ve been laid off a couple of times in my career and it always ended up a been a good thing. Best of luck to all who have been let go.

For those who are scared of being RIF'd my prayers are with you, for those who are RIF'd God Bless, but this can be a Blessing in Disguise. If I had a say, I would Volunteer to be RIF'd b.c after almost 2 decades i have never been less happy with this company than I have been in the last year. I am ready to move on. SORRY but NOT SORRY, since Elevance became a "thing", this company could care less about it's employees. If I didn't have as much vested into this place I would leave on my own, but I can't do it without a backup plan.

Thank you!! This is exactly what I needed to hear this morning. I am in a similar position 2 decades and leaning on my faith if my time here has come to an end :) I trust in God.

Thank you....a good reminder that we can trust there is a meaningful path forward even when we don't understand or it isn't what we would have chosen.

I was RIFd several years ago along with most of my team. I had worked there almost 30 years. I ended up with another company, love my job and am making more money and have better benefits. It’s very scary, but know there are better things out there waiting for you.

Amen! And TY! <3 I have been trying to think of it this way - if you get let go …God is in control and that new door He is leading you to may very well be the best blessing you have ever received for something new! Praying over everyone!
