Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel lost "confronting" culture, Intel lost "disagree and commit" culture

Everybody around manager becomes "yes" man, or a manager only keeps "yes" men, that was the start of the disaster. No one can stop Intel falling any more.

Confrontation culture worked out greatly on Ranking & Ratings.

The Intel culture that made Intel successful, was replaced with DEI and other woke ideals.

That's because of institutionalized in-breeding of managers and all the low-quality DEI hires over the past decade who lick boots vs confront and try solving difficult issues.

Agree with the headline. For years experienced culture issues. To me it is the root cause of current situation. Left Feb 2023 after >30 years.

I tried to question a few project decisions of my previous manager. Got "behaviour issues" on my insight feedback. I guess we're no longer an engineering company.

You can easily spot a YES man by the brown streaks around their nose. A NO man is hard to find at Intel because they no longer work there.

When I confront my manager and colleagues about their stoopid design choices , I get marked for cpm.

More so if your h1b. If you are whitie then you can get away with lots.

Yes men with unfounded optimism, all Indians are like that and bosses love them. You can see this everywhere, but Intel in particular.

"Disagree and commit" has always been the BIGGEST load of sh-t. What is yes-manning, if not that? You have valid complaints, but you fold, forget your concerns, and follow blindly anyways?

You hit the nail on the head. I left the company along with many in the late 90s for greener pastures. I loved the work and I could disagree and commit to a solid plan but when Barrett became CEO management changed radically. They built corporate silos and favored A$$ kissers.
