Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Do they not realize this hurts productivity?

The level of incompetence that we see from the ELT every single day is astonishing. Dragging on this process like this and having people worry and stress over it constantly can only destroy morale and bring down productivity. How is this good for the company?

Sleepless in OR. Awake and rabbit-holing this board. Gallows humor, right - but yes, mental health is a problem.

It’s time to upgrade all this talk about “stress”

Working for Intel right now is basically a mental health problem

If you don’t have a PTSD counselor now, don’t worry you’ll have plenty of sleepless nights to remind you to get one later

It's time to shed the indoctrination and intel values. They use this to keep employees compliant. There is no "Intel Family" except for a small cabal of rich a--holes at the top. You as an employee are NOT part of something great. You are a pawn in the game of corporate monopoly. Just keep that in mind and you will be OK.

They should have done this in 2021.
Intel is so slow in EVERYTHING they do.

ELT knows a bailout is coming… so no need to worry about productivity. Eventually this will become the Division of Semiconductor Manufacturing for the USDOD. They will be just another government department moving at glacial pace.

Right now they need to shed expenses to bring up the stock price and enrich themselves… So employees get to walk the plank.

The other big Oregon company did the same thing. Left employees twisting for months to know their fate. Productivity is below zero, those left to pickup the pieces are damaged beyond repair. Senior leaders just do not care, they have lost human empathy. Neither company will fully recover from it.

Perhaps that's the objective.

It doesn’t matter at this point. The only thing rescuing Intel at this point is “to big to fail” and the US taxpayers. Productivity loss due to cratering employee morale is irrelevant

This is done deliberately so that headcounts go down automatically. To them, you are just headcounts, no expertise, no dedication, nothing. Most of you are not even showing up to work. LOL.

No, they can't see.
"Let them eat cake" mentality is blind.

It will slow everything down a lot. There is no way milestones will be hit on time post layoffs
