Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Is July 4th an exception week for tracking?

Is July 4th an exception week for tracking or is the in-office mandate of 3-4 days per week still required this week?

My manager has been OOO for a few weeks so just trying to confirm what the expectations are this week as I can’t personally find anything transparent about the tracking for this week since I don’t have direct reports.

They focus on tracking the employees that are complying with RTO guidelines to see if they can nail them for missing one week with only 2 days in the office so they can warn them. All the employees that still refuse to come in the office or have ridiculous excuses for staying home are still ignored and catered to.

Whoever told you it's an exception week is hoping you won't get that E/E come review time and leave more for him in the bonus pool.

Not an exception week. But again, this changes pretty frequently.

Our Manager made us come in this week and Juneteenth week. They said that that was an error on their part about the exceptions weeks. So, it’s very inconsistent. Manager’s discretion.

You know what's "not that hard"?

For management, firm-wide, to be clear, honest, and transparent regarding all this with ALL employees. Yet many managers refuse to do so in what can only be a lame attempt to score brownie-points with their superiors by making their staffs go in to the office more than is required.

The smart manager, would be the one looking for every opportunity to generate some good will with their teams and giving them as much latitude as possible without running afoul of the tracking and policies.

It is difficult and unproductive for those who can work fully remotely to spend 3 hours a day to commute to the office. This equates to an extra week per month plus the fuel that heats up the planet. Few can afford to live close to where they work. An inflation without pay raises certainly doesn't help

Yes it is an exception week. Not being tracked. Next will be Labor Day, then Thanksgiving and last two weeks of the year.

@1uqv+1thJseOf & @1lpl+1thJseOf - Why would I go into the office if it’s not even being tracked this week and not part of the rolling 6 month period??? Complete waste of time, energy, & money.

Goodness gracious do you people spend as much time working as you do worrying about your bring tracked this or that week?
It's 4 out of a rolling 6 week period, chill out.

Pretty sure it’s an exception week, I’m not going in at all this week.
