Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

The price of oil not decisions by executives determines our profit

We could have a monkey leading us. The biggest determining factor in how profitable we are is what is the price of oil. Executives take credit for prices when it results in profit and blame prices when there is low or no profit. What a joke.

It is interesting that when stock orice goes up due to market price of oil, all the Executives give each other million$ in bonuses like they were responsible for the success.

Stock price goes down and they vote each other million$ in bonuses instead of giving money back.

Executives give each other million$ even if they are id--ts that do not understand the oil industry and have done zero to even earn a penny.

@udn+1tmXH36Y There is a difference between “control “ and “influence “. The outsized effect of commodity price on net profitability is the point.

There are two sides to profit. Revenue and Costs/Expenses. Even in a pure commodity market where Revenue may be somewhat out of your control, how you spend your money is. So yes…Executives do control profitability.

Are you saying Durwood is as good as a monkey?

Is that an insult to Durwood or monkey?
