There are dates floating around, including 15th (sales?) and the first week of August for the US in general. Do we know anything for sure?

: @xbw+1tqFqsTO Any positions that may possibly be created with be manned by subcontractors. Dell employee= unnecessary expense
MD sold billions in stock. Massive bubble combined with plummeting margins.
The canary in the coal mine is gasping. Keep believing the canary has asthma if you want.
If it is like the 2022 and 2023, you'll see layoffs in August and September. Enterprise Sales in my area are down quite a lot(ie 15% of plan) for the 1st half.
They will need to hire massive amounts of people to support AI and if they are only expecting to get contractors with low pay and no benefits they are going to have a hard time getting people. The small amount of people that are left in MFG will never be enough to support the numbers they are expecting to produce with AI.
the layoff amounts in 2024 will be minimal, there wont even b an email about, a few hundred layoffs only
our area is showing now signs of layoffs with senior execs being involved with planning meetings and talking about all the work that needs to be done by November knowing full well, we are already shorthanded. These people would know what is going to happen over the next few months. They wouldn't promise the business the work they know they can't deliver.

But short is that I expect that it will start in mid July with countries that have a required notice period and then move to the U.S. in August and September (some will start in July though) where there is no legal notice period. Dell will want everyone off the books by the end of September.
If anything there will be massive hiring. The AI hardware deployed will need to earn $600 billion to justify the hardware and power cost. According to my dell powered AI calculations Dell AI innovation ROI alone is in the hundreds of trillions in the next calendar year. AI will need humans to bulk up the power grid, manufacture in the US, and learn how to repair dell AI super AI servers. That's a lot of jobs. Embrace the 4th industrial revolution. It is here and Dell is in the lead.
