Thread regarding Lumen Technologies layoffs

Q2 Dismal Report August 6th

KJ pushed the Q2 report out one week. More people worried about a new RIF list that will be enacted in last week of July. So sad KJ has to keep cutting people.

If your skills are in copper POTS Lumen would be stupid not to lay you off. It is what it is. Upgrade your skills to the new millennium, or keep whining. Either is good with me.

Is that the micro or macro view? For every 1 the fire in US they hire 2 in India, and still save money. They took the Mr Wonderful approach, take everything over-seas.

Re-architect process, cut unprofitable/redundant legacy systems, equipment and real estate -- not people. Get it right and LUMN earnings will successfully throttle up. Oh wait, SLT has no technical background in telco industry or process specific to CTL? Well then, the only answer is to focus on DTL and other cheerleading efforts while managing layoffs via spreadsheet.

Hmm didn’t think of it that way that extending week is a way to plan layoffs. Just like other posters mentioned our VP told us to brace for layoffs in Q3 as the results are not looking good very few areas with positive news last qtr

Enough of this BS DTL and now this Knockout Story BS. Taking us away from doing actual revenue generating work we aren’t in HS anymore that these BS programs will make any difference in people cuz this cr-p ain’t fixing our billing problem. Unbelievable that SLT has us doing this BS when more important internal process needs attention. Looks like it’s be design for Lumen to fail lol Rene Brown can buy Lumen and have a big book club

My manager is happy to let cut cables/ outages last weeks or months. We have been seeing mass disconnects for months now. The company has zero urgency to restore copper service.

I like to see Lumen sell West Coast to Ziply.
Eastern half to Bright speed. Central to copper scrap yard. Except Denver 😁

Are severance packages guaranteed to be paid in a BK scenario?

Look over the previous quarter investor relations slides, anything VOIP or Voice related is lumped under 'legacy'. If you saw that and were a current customer, wouldn't you be ready to move your services to someone else?

The govt side makes no money and barely floats itself.

Just like previously in February of this year .

Maybe it means something, maybe it doesn't.
