Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

AppDynamics

what does everyone think will happen with this team? A lot of change has happened, and not sure what FY25 looks like for that team. Any insights or thoughts for the AppD team?

BS. Splunk is just acquired. They are safe for the next couple of years. It’s the legacy Cisco deadweight that will have to make space for the Splunk folks.

They are cleaning house with Cisco splunk and they are making 2 business units in Cisco. Software and hardware. Appd has already been stripped and splunk will see a lot of pain next. PSs in appd will be cut … lots of engineers in splunk are about to be cut. Huge restructure. Most of the splunk people were being evaluated the last weeks. Splunk had in person “teck days” a few weeks ago and everyone was being evaluated …. The purge is coming

It will die when all artificial hair falls off Ronak's scalp.

FSO is the latest shiny toy. It will achieve nowhere near the revenue expected and will be dropped in two years after it crashes and burns, mark my words. Cisco is a [failing] legacy hardware networking business and does not have the people to sell anything other. Don’t take my word for it, look at the stock price.

If Cisco acquired DataDog instead, the only thing different is that it would be DataDog on the chopping block, not AppDynamics. Cisco and its unique ability to sc--w up every company it acquires is the problem. Give it 2-3 years, Splunk will be a sinking 28 billion dollar ship too.

they're on the chopping block in the next LR for sure due to many redundancies with Splunk. Clean your desk and get packing if you're in appDynamics!
