There will be more layoffs, attempts to circumvent WARN wherever possible, attempts to cover up the extent of job cuts, and power-grabs that would allow for continuous pressure to reduce regulations to preferably none. Employees, clients and public safety be damned. We’ve witnessed lately where greed, incompetence and cutting corners can lead, especially in industries requiring experienced and trained workforce, and very specific safety measures. When sh-t hits the fan, greedy a--holes will find a way to weasel out. But when lives are lost, it’s too late.
