Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel is the worst with regard to stressing employees over layoffs

When do you think they will drop the bo-b for 2024... Here's how I remember the past big layoffs:
2015 - early June , no volunteers. big surprise on the criteria including to most managers
2016 (ACT) - a Monday in late April, people were gone immediately and volunteers by June 30
SET happened late in the year but it was announced that they were doing an analysis that started in early summer so the tensions were high for a long time. no volunteers

I never understood why stressing the workforce was necessary, it ki-ls performance. Just rip the band-aid off...

The managements messed up the company, they should be fired. The engineers are victims. The managers made bad decisions but hide their fault. The managers in TD under Ann are junks and jokes.

I remember the layoffs in New Mexico in 2008...

Everyone was sitting in the cafeteria waiting for their 1:1's. The 1:1's were being held in the little conference rooms surrounding the cafeteria so, we basically had front row seats to the carnage.

If someone came out with a standard grey envelope, all was good. If they came out with a manila envelope, they were gone.

Once the mangers were done firing people, their mangers came in and fired them......

How many years do you have to have worked at Intel to be eligible for a VSP?

Odds are good this time. If you can’t retire yet, look for a job now, maybe you can get a new job AND a package. Tell your boss you wouldn’t mind being one of the “chosen ones”. Believe me it will be hard for them to find the bodies for the cut, under the table volunteers will be appreciated.

I’m waiting for a layoff, gimme that severance. Heard other orgs like LTD-M just had voluntary offered to them, would love if my org was offered it. Lemme get up and gtfo out of here with some cash in hand.

Why leave for a new job now when the potential to get that severance is there?

WHY are you sitting around stressing and worrying about what will certainly be some big layoffs coming up? Waiting and worrying don’t solve a thing!

Get up off your fat chops and find something better outside of Intel. Do it for yourself and your family. What are you waiting for?

The senior managers are cowards. They are just there to collect huge paychecks. They couldn't careless about the employees. If they had morals they quickly dropped them to receive massive compensation instead. They are waiting for someone else to make the decision.
