I can see why it might have that reputation, but no. There are a number of folks currently making $150k+ in that building as individual contributors (like senior lead BECs, for example). And that's after a number of huge layoffs have already occurred, cutting some higher-up managers in ECR and other groups. There are call-center jobs there, too (collections, fraud). But also a sprinkling of folks from issue management, front-line risk, and other random groups with smaller footprints in Hillsboro.

Stay the course. Don't give those evil little men in their ivory tower what they want. Severance or death.

Barnhart has several lobs, not just phone reps. I think Salem is the only call center in Oregon at this time. Most at barnhart are p2's and up for pay grade levels. There are no Frontline entry levels at this location. Most are just tired of waiting as the rumors on location strategy have been going since 2020

Isn't Barnhart just a bunch of lousy call center jobs?

If you wouldn't get much severance anyway, use the time to job search. If you have some solid severance coming your way, wait it out. Being in limbo (waiting for the layoff) is the worst part, but it's worth it if you'll be getting a few months of severance. I had a bit over five months of paid time off after being laid off from the Barn (severance + 60-day non-working period), and it has been sooo nice. The time flies, but it's a once in a lifetime break from the grind.
