Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

To Our Fellow "Miltons"

"Umm, I'm gonna have to ask you to go ahead and move your desk again... get it back as far as possible, that would be great."

Milton’s response? A simple, defiant "No." Yet, despite his resistance, his boss still takes his red stapler. And in a quiet moment of frustration, Milton famously says, "I could set the building on fire."

While it’s a humorous scene, it’s also a metaphor for how some of us might feel during times of transition. As you face this LR (layoff/restructuring), I encourage you to hold your red staplers high. Let Cisco and the world know that you are Milton!

When you step into your next role or position, it’s possible that Cisco didn’t create a loyal advocate for their products and services but instead, an adversary wielding a red stapler.

Use this moment to your advantage—whether it’s to fuel your next success, inspire your next venture, or become an even stronger professional.

We stand with you as you move forward with resilience and strength.

Do you get staplers with the Cisco logo on them.
I still have one from Ford in that white box I walked out of there with some years ago.
