Monday we all have an invite to an all company meeting; probably tell us then.
No, they will tell US people Thu and Fri. On Monday they will declare that the battle is over "everybody that is contactable has been notified".
Then they want to return to laser-focused, super-excited 110% effort.
Of course, the rest of the world will spend the next 2-6 months waiting and wondering.
Perfect start to FY25!!
LOL at the US centric vibe. Rest of world were still asking in April "are we done yet?". It was slow and painful and created months of uncertainty. Execs don't give a flying ph-k.
What happens if the laid off employee is on PTO?
Your manager will text or call your mobile # or your emergency contact # and ask you to call them ASAP. One of my co-workers was let go while on PTO. He'd travelled out of state the week before to celebrate his Dad's 75th birthday (or some such mile marker age) as part of a huge family reunion.
I've heard some people try to play hard to reach, but he took the call or responded to the text, had his LR meeting w/ the manager over the phone, and the paperwork the manager would normally print for you was emailed to him (either his work or personal email, which ever he preferred and had access to at the time).
@acu+1u1BGFPG likely they will try to contact you via phone during your PTO to notify
I was Feb 2024. Got a 1:1 email at 7:00AM for an 8:30 meeting for 15 minutes.
My manager would be waiting in an empty virtual meeting for 15 min. I don't start my workday until 9:30 AM, so unless they notify me before 5:30 PM the day before, I won't see the invite until 9:30AM.
And knowing what's happening, I wouldn't be answering my phone if my manager called from his work or mobile #'s as I have them in my contact list. Since I let all unknown numbers go to voicemail, I'd not be answering any unknown calls either.
they wont drag it out, nobody will be productive until they have a team meeting and say "everyone has been notified". If you get a 1x1 scheduled for tomorrow sometime tonight or early tomorrow morning, you will know. Put on your big boy (or girl) pants and write down some questions or comments you want to make. Your manager or whoever it is, will read a script to you and tell you all your questions will be answered in the email that you will get as soon as they hang up the call. Good luck for all those waiting to hear, glad I was out last Feb as the job market is way tougher today than it was 6 months ago.
No one knows. They haven’t even announced to us via email the 7% they’ve told the world.
Monday we all have an invite to an all company meeting; probably tell us then. Start the culling after that.
In USA, notifications are tomorrow, 8/15
