All those saying do your job, looks like they dont understand, if not this time next time or the next time. Layoff is definite

Cisco has subscriptions to several training sites like Udemy and coursera. Take advantage of those to get a certification that will help you land your next gig or add value in your current role.

Don’t be an a…hole. It feels great to vent but helps no one in the long run. You are still being paid to work. Work as if you wont be laid off, but “level up” in the meantime while the training is free. So if you do get hit you are a step ahead of the game. If you don’t you may have set yourself up to avoid being hit the next time or get a better job without the time pressure. We are all frustrated and agitated at the uncertainty , but how we respond to that uncertainty will determine how much impact it has on our mental health in the long run.

Hmm - how about your job?

In addition to that take the month to get a start on your resume, start reaching out to contacts that have gone stale - freshen the network - so you have a jump start if you are impacted.

Or waste your time posting / complaining on the internet.

you hope for the best and prepare for the worse. Get your résumé up-to-date, your LinkedIn profile scrubbed, ask for recommendations on LinkedIn so it’s public and eat Ramen until September 16.

No time to think abut it. Our leaders design a system people watch over each other's shoulder. Make sure no one lazy.
