Former CEO Eric Schmidt explains why Google fumbled its lead in AI

No more WFH + employee logging (work hours + task tracking etc). Intel has to fundamentally change its culture to be competitive to TSMC.

He not only slammed American's for WFH, but also slammed their work ethic with his Taiwanese-Physics-PhD-in-the-basement story.

Yeah, he had to take it back, but he's got his fingers crossed behind his back.

He meant every word.

If eric knew the answer they why not implement earlier so Google can catch up? From this perspective he’s like Kamala, a lot of program suggestions that for some reason she won’t implement while actually in office sitting at the White House. WTF?

You mean to say my "W"FH manager who logs off at 3pm every day to take his pampered kids to soccer practice contributed to the downfall of Intel? Who could have guessed?

What do you mean, "Eric Schmidt misspoke?"

Do you mean he said the quiet part outloud, basically insulting American workers?

That he didn't mean it?

I think he meant it.

TSMC's work culture does not scale and its efforts will be short lived, Taiwan has one of the lowest birth rates in the world. Think differently is the answer.

Very interesting 108 seconds.

There has to be a middle ground between bloat, with lots of bureaucracy and unnecessary layers of management, and the "work like h-e-double-hockey-sticks" culture that Schmidt described.

I don't think start culture can scale, especially if the rewards don't scale, too. People might take a big risk and work hard for a big reward; but, except for workaholic Adrenalin junkies, most people can't do that forever.
