I’ve heard that this years Potential setting will be a bloodbath. We have too many people with artificially high Potentials and the word is HR will be culling it. Anyone else heard this?

They are getting rid of CL 36 potential. You’ll either go to 38 or 34. Likely a group of potential 34s will go down to 29 as well.

My potential is tapped out according to my performance ranking. I am on a downward slope according to my manager. I think there are a lot of low potentials like me left. My potential for retirement is high though.
EM is transitioning to systematically hiring external executives. Too many homegrown HiPos have turned out to be sheltered id--ts with no concept of the real world.
HiPos will be cut down to minimal in HC10 countries and BTC HiPos will increase to fill local future executive positions far cheaper than the current expats there.
The Europeans have artificially inflated potential numbers for decades. Had they all been given “honest” numbers, properly calibrated against their NA counterparts, we wouldn’t be in this mess in the first place.
