RTO 5-day i4/n office coming after labor day/strike

We're going from 3 to 4/5 day in office requirement. While the current labor dispute may delay announcement, WFH is effectively ending by years end. There will always be exceptions but not for most rank and file. What's your feeling on 5 day commute?

so i guess you will be in the office 8 hours a day where your laptop is?

Laptop will be in the office. There is no need to bring it home.

What office? CRE gave away my office. No desk, no storage, no supplies, no frills. Now I just find a seat where I can.

Laptop will be in the office. There is no need to bring it home.

It’s six days a week not 5 and mandatory 12 hours, hate it for all you managmenttards.

Thanks great! It’s not fair that I need to leave my house for work while the RTO complainers get to hang out in their gym clothes and forward emails every couple hours. The WFH people don’t do a lot. And you know it.

I’ll gladly go in 5 days a week….to my local home office that I was hired at. Don’t ask me to move.

" Only if you’re in a company vehicle. Otherwise your 8 hours starts when you get to: your assigned location"

Not the point, zi-------d.

The point is that this employee would have previously had their laptop at home with them, and quickly logged in and got to work on a customer affecting situation.

Going forward, if leadership is mandating 40 hours in the office, that's what they're going to get. Laptop will be in the office. There is no need to bring it home.

You don't get to have it both ways.

“ I bet that’s why a truckload of very small desks showed up. We were scratching our heads like. Wth are they going to do with those?”

You know how we know this is a lie? Because we have seen people show up and have to sit on the floor like a dog. We have seen people show up and question the fire code at full capacity. We have seen fights break out. We have seen people walk in, unable to find a drop in, and walk right out.

Of course your experience might be more the norm such as, the big mouth burly guy that for some reason bellows like he’s at a noisy bar. Or the congregating chipmunks chattering next to your workspace as if you were not even there. Or the hacking, coughing contagious goon that is oblivious to the cringing around him. And of course who can forget the star of the show, the speakerphone f*** head that insists on he sharing his meeting and his self-important input with the entire collaboration zone.

Welcome to ATS. (Thanks Jeremy Logg)

Its fine. Whatever. It'll just slow down the work I do. They've already proven that they don't care about performance, only butts in seats. If that's what they want, that's what they'll get. 8 and the gate. No more 7am meetings with Israel or India. Not my work hours. Customer facing site is down? Sorry, I'm not operations and its outside my work hours because I left my laptop at the office. I don't work from home anymore and, oh by the way, it'll take at least an hour and a half to get to the office, maybe more depending on the time. So sorry. Management set the priorities.

I know people that are in the office 5 days/week and have been since RTO started. Most seem to be 3 days/week. But it seems to really be by VP. People keep saying "its coming" and then it doesn't, at least for most.

Seems like people just like to post something just to see it.

What is a multi-year term package? Is that basically temp work?

We've been told that those of us who are customer facing and therefore not in a hub, that we are going to Flex office workers. 1 to 3 days a week in the office so they can cut down on real estate outside of hubs.

Probably only select groups since there’s zero space. 5/week means assigned seats.

RTO in offices with no assigned spaces is utter ridonkolous. Why are yall still working there?

"For what is coming to the union members will be the perfect storm
to streamline jobs in the thousands."

Look at the contracts. Basically either guaranteed job offer with reloc pay if needed. Or a multi-year term pay package. West is currently unlimited term pay. Looking at 3 to 4 hundred K for some folks.

Arnodi said 3-5 and that your job is the determining factor. The people 2-3 levels above me don't even know my boss' name. They have no clue what my job is or that it can be done remotely 4 days a week. They've forced us back 5 days a week for a year now.

I'm beginning to think union strike is posturing on behalf of the union to save face. For what is coming to the union members will be the perfect storm
to streamline jobs in the thousands.

Wild, especially for those in “outside” territory sales.

This would require assigning desks and they don't have enough space.
