Does anybody at Intel feel like he or she has job security? If you do, can you please share why? I'm yet to talk to one person who isn't worried not just about being laid off but being fired for whatever reason. This is all outside of top management, of course. We all know their job security is ironclad.

@fue Legal department is getting cut steeply and will be replaced by contractors.
Janitors were laid off and replaced by contractors years ago.
Few jobs are safe anywhere in the US.
Should be 100% layoffs at the ELT level first !
Then over promoted VPs without any 2024 current processor design contributions !
Boomer legacy x86 folks can all go !
Intel lost its Innovation years gone bye bye !
WinTel ! MS and Intel monopolies will be gone soon !
Fab engs and techs get ready for an area by area reorg !
x86 toolsets and process will be legacy 20% output with foundry 80% output !
Never in my adult life have I felt I had job security. I think that’s only possible for government employees.
Intel lawyers. They are laughing so hard.
I have l33t PowerPoint skillz, my job is secure.
There are plenty of people with safe sinecures, particularly (but not exclusively) in management. That’s why Intel is so bloated to begin with. They have the connections they need to stay employed and have made themselves useful to the right people. They survived BK’s axe and will survive Pat’s.
The mask designers at IMO aren't allowed to take VSP
Even if they get rid of all low performers and non-essential workers, that will only remove 10% to 12% of people. The won't stop and will need to cut secure jobs to make 15%. Also, next quarter's earnings will be even worse after VSP is done, so ISP might be higher than 15%.
The job role safe at intel is of the janitor
People in key roles on R&D projects are likely safe. As in if your group did not offer voluntary ISP, then likely there's people they don't want to bail. So if you're a rock star in such a position, you're gtg. If it's at possible to cut your project or deliver without your input, then I'd say get to looking around.
CEO, CFO, and CPO have job security. Also, they have the chop list.
Nobody's safe. Even if someone is knows beforehand, he/she won't disclose it in fear of repercussion.
