Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Farley needs to follow GM’s lead

In an email sent to GM salaried employees Monday that was obtained by the Detroit Free Press, Baris Cetinok said as GM faces increased competition in the U.S. and abroad, it must shift resources to its highest-priority work and simplify team structures, including "flattening hierarchies" to avoid duplication.

Ford could eliminate all LL3 4 and 5 and we’d never miss them.

Had someone that was caught in the August 2022 layoffs here reach out that he was let go by GM today. A contractor.

So it wasn't all "LL3 and LL4"levels.

He is few steps ahead of GM.

His focus is BEV/data/software and resources were re-allocated by forcing many people out and hiring lots of people he needs to do BEV/data/software. Nothing is more clear about this.

You can question if BEV/data/software is a right priority. But you cannot say he did not execute. You can also see that a successfully implemented wrong objective resulted in a complete failure.

That’s the thing about GM strategy they let go people who were managers like ll3 and ll4 . Whereas at ford they first kick the people who actually get stuff done on the ground. I know atleast 7 people who got laid off last year joining back s after a year. That tells you what a waste of time it was for people and the company.

Get rid of pink bunny slippers and Chris Farley while they are at it. Plus Billy step down and retire to the train station money pit
